If that is not possible, keep the tooth moist in milk or saliva and get to our office within 30 minutes for the right chance of saving it. For a severe toothache, rinse with warm salt water and apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek. For a broken or chipped tooth, save any pieces, rinse your mouth with warm water, and apply gauze to any bleeding areas.
